MTT Shipping Takes Delivery of the 16th Container Vessel in its Fleet – MTT Sandakan


MTT Shipping took delivery of its newest ship, MTT Sandakan in a virtual handover ceremony on the 22nd of November. The video conference was attended by representatives from MTT Shipping, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard, Wang Jing & Co (shipping law firm in China), Allen & Gledhill LLP (shipping law firm in Singapore), NSB Group and Maersk Broker.


MTT Sandakan, named after Sandakan Port, has a total length of 172m, 28.40m breadth, and a depth of 14.20m with a nominal capacity of 1,762 TEUs. She is equipped with the highest specifications, featuring improved technologies and first-rate quality equipment for fuel optimisation, enabling her to perform at her highest efficiency at sea.



The arrival of MTT Sandakan is a testament to the Company’s continuous pursuit in staying ahead of the curve by exploring the latest technologies available for newbuildings in order to provide customers with state-of-the-art vessels with modern and fuel-efficient designs. With these outstanding features, the Company believes she can greatly contribute to moving the customers’ business forward for the many years to come.
