MTT Shipping is pleased to announce that the company has taken delivery of its first river ship MTT Sibu on the 5th of July. The delivery ceremony was carried out via video conference between representatives of MTT Shipping and the shipyard, Nantong Tongmao Shipbuilding in China.
MTT Sibu which is named after Sibu in Sarawak, is the first to be delivered among our series of river ships. She has a total length of 99m and an outstanding container intake of 415-TEU which is higher than vessels of similar design due to her unique shallow draft design. As part of our ongoing commitment in delivering efficient and sublime services to our customers, the new river ship is specially designed to call shallow-drafted ports, thus enabling us to offer our customers with greater domestic connectivity.
The Covid-19 pandemic has certainly changed the way business is done worldwide, but it will not put a halt in our pursuit of fleet upgrade towards providing the highest quality service for our customers.
MTT Shipping would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the Nantong Tongmao team who worked tirelessly to deliver the ship on schedule despite undergoing a challenging time brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
